Who are we?

Welcome to iDwala Retreat Centre (Pty) Ltd! We are a privately owned and operated Franciscan Retreat Centre, led by the dynamic duo Heidi and Hermann Kuschke.

Though there is no official denominational involvement, both Heidi and Hermann are practising Anglicans and proud members of The Society of St Francis, an Anglican religious order. These organisations provide spiritual oversight for the activities at iDwala.

Both Heidi and Hermann boast impressive qualifications and experience as Spiritual Directors. They completed a course in Spiritual Accompaniment in 2014, offered by the Centre for Spirituality, Meditation, and Prayer of the Dutch Reformed Church in South-eastern Pretoria. Additionally, Hermann is an ordained priest in the Anglican Church and holds the honorary title of Canon in the Diocese of Mpumalanga. He serves as a priest in the Chapel of St Paul in Belfast, Mpumalanga.
